I had called another pest control company due to squirrels in my attic. Long story short after over $1100, a stuck squirrel and the other companies lack of response, I got in touch with Nukingstreet Pest and Wildlife Control. Jeff was here in 3 hours! He is professional, courteous, thorough and knows what he is talking about. He did a full inspection of the crawl space/attic and found a squirrel tucked in the hangover near the roof line. Which I had told the other company. Jeff set traps in the attic and we waited. It took about 2-3weeks, but FINALLY the squirrel was caught!! I can not tell you how thrilled I am with this outcome! Jeff is the best and I will ONLY call him in the future!! Jeff, THANK YOU!!!Posted on Google![]()

Highly recommend this company. As soon as spring hit, my recently bought house was overrun with ants inside and also all over the yard, like an insane amount. I reached out to Nukingstreet as they had good reviews and I like to give business to local companies as I feel they have more authenticity and better customer service than big national chains. They came out and got the ant problem under control, and also took care of a mice issue I was having around the property. They have a quarterly service subscription option which in my opinion is well worth it, Iโve had it for a year and plan to continue with it as itโs nice not having to worry about bugs and mice anymore. The owner Jeff is a really nice guy, and if thereโs anything that needs follow up they always offer to come back out.Posted on Google![]()

West Hartford packs a lot into one town: about 64,000 people, a busy restaurant scene in West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square, 1920s neighborhoods, postwar streets and, on its western edge, the Metacomet Ridge and more than 3,000 acres of wooded MDC reservoir land. Pest problems change a lot depending on which side of town you live on.
West Hartford logged about 1,098 bear sightings in 2025, more than any other town in Connecticut. Bears were filmed near Elizabeth Park in June 2025. Bears themselves are handled by CT DEEP and local police, not pest control. We deal with what they attract and leave behind: torn-open trash enclosures, spilled feeders that bring in rodents, and damaged sheds and crawlspaces that raccoons and skunks move into.
West Hartford adopted zoning in 1924, the first Connecticut town to do so, and much of its housing dates from that era. West Hill is a 1920s planned neighborhood and a National Historic District, and the Prospect Avenue area has homes from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Mature trees overhanging older rooflines give squirrels an easy route into attics, and aging sills and foundations let mice in. We seal the entry points and trim access routes as part of exclusion.
Homes near the reservoirs, Talcott Mountain and the Metacomet Trail back onto real forest. Expect more ticks, raccoons, skunks and woodchucks there than in the denser neighborhoods near Elmwood or the Center. Our tick treatments focus on the wooded edges and stone walls where ticks wait.
Food businesses in West Hartford Center, Blue Back Square, Park Road and Bishops Corner need documented pest programs that hold up to health inspections. We handle flies, cockroaches and rodents with monitoring, sanitation guidance and exclusion, and we keep the records you need.
We cover West Hartford Center, Elmwood, Bishops Corner, Prospect Hill, West Hill, Park Road and every neighborhood in between, plus Hartford, Bloomfield, Farmington, Avon and Newington. Call (800) 466-9918 to book an inspection.

Mice get into older West Hartford homes through aging foundations and sills, and bird-feeder spills draw them in. We seal entry points instead of relying on poison. More about our rodent control.
Bed bugs travel with people, and busy apartments and short-term rentals see them most. Our Bed Bug Central certified team inspects, treats and follows up. More about our bed bug removal.
Ticks are most common on the west side near the reservoirs, the ridge and wooded parks. We treat the edges where they live. More about our tick control.
Low ground near Trout Brook, Spicebush Swamp and park wetlands breeds mosquitoes. We target standing water and resting areas. More about our mosquito control.
Carpenter ants favor damp wood in older homes. We trace and treat the colony. More about our ant control.
Wasps build under the eaves of older homes and yellow jackets nest in lawns. We remove nests safely. More about our wasp and hornet removal.
Restaurants and multifamily buildings are where roaches show up in West Hartford. We identify the species and treat with documented follow-up. More about our cockroach control.
Fleas come in on pets and wildlife. We coordinate indoor and yard treatment with your vet. More about our flea control.
One recurring plan. Complete protection. We identify entry points, treat the source, and keep common pests from ever getting comfortable in your home or business.
We inspect, identify, and eliminate pests at the source using proven treatment methods, then protect your space to prevent future infestations.
We walk the property inside and out to find entry points, moisture problems and whatever is feeding the problem, not just the pests themselves.
Mechanical fixes come first. When treatment is needed, we use targeted, low-toxicity products only where pests live and travel.
We seal the gaps that let pests in, then set up a follow-up or recurring visit so the problem stays solved.

No. Bears are managed by CT DEEP and local police. West Hartford had about 1,098 sightings in 2025, the most in Connecticut. We help with what attracts them and repair the openings that smaller wildlife move into afterward.
Mature trees overhang many 1920s-era rooflines, giving squirrels direct access to gaps at fascia and soffits. We remove them with one-way exclusion, repair entry points and recommend trimming access branches.
Yes. We run documented programs for flies, cockroaches and rodents designed to hold up to health inspections, with service records you can show an inspector.
Generally, yes. Homes near the MDC reservoir lands, Talcott Mountain and wooded parks back onto forest, so ticks are more common there. We focus treatment on wooded edges and stone walls.
It depends on the pest, the size of the property and what the inspection finds. We quote a clear price after the inspection and offer military and senior discounts. See our pricing page.
